If you are a reader of my blog, you should know that Music is probably the greatest love in my life besides my Kids and family. Thanks to my mother who recently passed away , I was raised on the greatest music in the world. That music being 70’s classic R&B , and Motown Music. through my adolescence i Discovered everything from classic rock to Classical music that I loved and respected. Classic R&B will always have a special place in my heart especially considering that they just don’t make music like this anymore.
If you have never seen” Live from Daryl’s house”, its on PLD. People just come to his house and kind of JAM with him and the band. This episode in particular is awesome not only because its Smokey Robinson, But Daryl is such a HUGE fan of Smokey’s that you can see it in some of their interactions that he’s almost starstruck, as would anyone. Daryl even had given Smokey a demo of his to be heard when he was 17 years old. Check out the episode on youtube!
you can see past episodes of the show on the site https://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/
This was a really great show this past Sunday on CBS?….Particularly about the fathers and sons, and family dynamic. Supercross/motocross is truly a family sport!
Wow. What an awesome documentary Behind the Dream is turning out to be, I’ve not seen anything like it before. You know I ride motocross so I see this show really gets across not only the commitment the rider has to give, but everybody around them invests in that one persons future. And what a future they have, whether they turn pro and get paid to do something they love, or ride for that buzz the rest of their life.
The rest of the shows can be found here on my blog.
Enjoy the show, posted by the Babe Behind the Blog x
I’m not a huge fan of Amercian Idol, but I’ve been watching this year . Caleb is the man to beat, and Jena is really a contender also. Last night Jessica took on a Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks) on IMO she really Nailed it. It takes real confidence in yourself to make this happen.
There are a few artists out there IMO (Mariah,Whitney,Michael Jackson and maybe Celine Dion) who should never be taken on, especially in a contest as big as this, unless your damn sure you can do it justice or really make it your own. I love Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac . I can listen to her sing for hours and be totally taken by her voice and Presence.
The judges didn’t seem to feel it as much as I’m saying, but I think there is a disconnect sometimes about being there in the audience and how it comes off on TV. She sang Rhiannon, A huge song for Stevie, and Jessica REALLY sounded great. You have to be really unique to sound like Stevie, and Jessica really did the song and Stevie Justice. I hope she goes far in the Competition. If you are a fan of Fleetwood Mac or would like to be I’ve included Access here to Download their Greatest hits CD called the Very Best of.
The last time Dan Henderson had his hand raised after a fight was on Nov. 19, 2011, after a five-round battle with Mauricio Rua. They will meet again 856 days later in UFC Fight Night 38’s main event in Natal, Brazil, and the former PRIDE champion feels ready to get back on track.
Henderson and “Shogun” headlined UFC 139 card in San Jose, Calif., and the Team Quest veteran dominated the first three rounds. He gassed, and the Brazilian got the best of him in the later rounds.
“Not to punch myself out trying to finish him because he’s hard to finish,” Henderson told MMAFighting.com when asked about the lessons he learned in their first encounter. “I’ll take my shots a little better.
“I’m excited to come down here and fight. I’m already used to hear the (Brazilian) fans say I’m going to die, so I want to come down here and prove them wrong (laughs).”
UFC champion Jon Jones was the only man capable of finishing “Shogun” with strikes during his 12-year MMA career, but Henderson is confident he can do it.
“I’m capable of finishing him, but it doesn’t always happens when you want, so I’m ready to go five rounds,” he said. “I’m excited about it.”
“Shogun” still thinks the first fight should have been a draw. Henderson disagrees.
“He was trying to finish me in the last round, and I know that one of the criteria to get a 10-8 is when you’re close to get finished,” he said. “He had the mount most of the fifth round but he wasn’t doing much to me. He was so tired he didn’t hurt me. If you score that way, the third round was also a 10-8. It is what it is.”
Coming off three straight losses under the UFC banner, Henderson won’t play it safe to get back to the win column.
“I don’t know if it affects my strategy at all,” he said about the losses. “Just make sure to control the fight a little bit better, making sure I don’t end up on the bottom.”
“In my mind, I’m not coming off three losses, but it’s still three losses,” he continued. “I don’t want a fourth on that, for sure. In the first, Rashad, I felt should have gone other way. It was a close fight, it’s not like I was beat up for three fights. It’s a little bit extra motivation, I guess, to make sure it doesn’t happen again, but it won’t change my strategy in the fight.
